BreakMaster_TM utilizes an innovative Key-Lock design which allows for the breaking stations to adjust to accommodate different heights and angles. The stations are safe and easy to remove and re-mount, allowing for a variety of breaking techniques.

How it started…

Master Darin Wood, 6^th degree certified black belt

Master Darin Wood began his martial arts training in Taekwondo in 1983 while attending college at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. After joining the US Air Force in 1986 Master Wood was assigned to Barksdale Air Force Base in Bossier City, Louisiana. Still dedicated to the principles of Taekwondo, he continued his Martial Arts training receiving his Black Belt in 1988. He then began teaching part time while still on active duty for the Air Force. Master Wood’s students have included military police, Air Force personnel, police swat team’s, men, women, children and a young lady named Barbi McGinnis. Upon completion of his commitment to the Air Force in 1990 Master Wood began teaching full time in Shreveport Louisiana.

In 1993 Master Wood and Barbi were married and decided to move back to Conway, Arkansas to start a new martial arts school and a family. So, in 1994 Master Wood sold Shreveport Taekwondo Academy to his Sr. Black Belt and Assistant Instructor Mr. Scott Teer, and moved back to Central Arkansas.

Master Wood is an eight-time National Champion, including the 1993, 1994, and 1995 USTF Men’s 3^rd and 4^th Degree National Heavy Weight Fighting Champion. And in 2001 was inducted into the World Martial Arts Hall of Fame.

Now retired from teaching full-time, Master Wood enjoys training with a handful of private students at his home, including his daughter Saige, son Connor and Barbi, his wife of over 25 years.

After 30+ years in Martial Arts, I struggled with the problems inherent in holding boards for students, such as consistency, having enough people to hold boards, lack of versatility in board-holding machines coupled with the need to hold boards for my teenage son at home. So, I started a 2-year journey to address the needs that I had, and what was born out of that was BreakMaster_TM.
